34 killed in Kabul explosion

Kabul, July 1 (IANS) At least 34 people were killed and over 65 others injured on Monday after a powerful blast in Kabul, Afghan authorities said.

Interior Ministry spokesman Nasrat Rahimi said militants detonated the car bomb close to the Gulbahar Tower during the morning rush hour, reports Khaama news agency.

No other details of the incident were immediately available.
