Usually, when official or party meetings or even conferences are organized, by the previous government in combined Andhra Pradesh, extraordinary lunch and dinner were arranged for the invitees. Even during collectors’ conference held in Hyderabad during Congress or TDP regime, the food served used to be stupendous.
The dining hall always faced a mad rush for mouth-watering dishes including Biryani, Non-vegetarian and vegetarian varieties. After bifurcation, even the TDP government followed similar policy at the meetings. In Telangana, KCR happens to follow the same policy yet. However, when it comes to AP's new CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, the story seems to be different. He does not seem to believe in this extravaganza.
He is said to believe in simple food and does not seem to like wasting money on lunch and dinner parties. When the first meeting was held with Ministers and senior party leaders, after the formation of the cabinet, everyone expected a stupendous lunch. Surprisingly, they were served with just sambar rice and curd rice. Much surprising were the IPS officers and collectors when at the meeting lunch packets were served at the meeting tables itself.
Even Jagan was served the same packet as all others in the meeting hall. Jagan is said to have told the officials, that if they were getting embarrassed to eat in front of him, they could take a 15 minutes break and then continue the meeting. This showed how Jagan's governance is going to be differentiated from any others till now.
