Vivo unveils 120W ultra high power charging


Shanghai, June 26 (IANS) Chinese handset maker Vivo on Wednesday unveiled its proprietary "Super FlashCharge" 120W -- a first in the industry to deliver 120W ultra-high power charging -- at the ongoing Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2019 in Shanghai, China.

According to the data from a lab test, Vivo "Super FlashCharge" 120W takes only five minutes to charge a 4,000mAh battery from 0 to 50 per cent and can fully charge the smartphone in just 13 minutes, the company said in a statement.

The handset maker also displayed its first commercial 5G smartphone that will be officially available starting third quarter (Q3) 2019.

The 120W charge features a new charge pump technology with a customisable Type-C data cable and travel charger.

"Vivo's mission has always been to develop innovative products to deliver the ultimate user experience, with smart devices and smart services as the core of our business," said Spark Ni, Senior Vice President, Vivo.

"We hope that through the introduction of new strategy and innovation we can truly make a big impact in improving people's quality of life and the society as a whole."

The company also showcased a range of 5G applications including 5G Cloud game and 5G screen mirroring.
