Paytm First Games grows thrice this World Cup

New Delhi, June 25 (IANS) The June 16 clash between India and Pakistan, which the Men in Blue won quite easily, in the ongoing World Cup 2019 triggered a massive jump in the popularity of fantasy cricket -- First Captains -- at Paytm First Games.

A three-fold growth in the number of players was registered during the India-Pakistan match and is poised to cross one million new users during the ongoing edition of the showpiece event.

With the growing popularity of cricket on Paytm First Games, it is well positioned to dominate the gaming market and challenge the existing players like Dream 11.

The company said in its statement that within a year of launch, Paytm First Games has 30 million registered users. It offers more than 300 engaging games including the popular ones like fantasy, rummy, battle centre, 8 ball pool, ludo, and live quiz.

Sudhanshu Gupta, Chief Operating Officer (COO), Paytm First Games said: "The World Cup has generated a phenomenal uplift in our cricket fantasy game called First Captains. We have a robust line up of innovations and product enhancements that we have released every week during the world cup and will continue to engage and excite our users in the weeks and cricketing seasons to come."

"The average user is creating at least 2.5 teams per match with one-fifth of the users creating more than 5 teams to compete in the different formats. There's also been a very positive response to the casual play along and predictor that we've added alongside the basic format of fantasy," he added.
