Being the fourth largest party in the parliament, YSRCP has been offered the deputy speaker’s post in Lok Sabha. But according to sources, YSRCP is unlikely to accept this post. And the reason being said is that YSRCP does not want itself to be seen aligning with ruling party BJP until this Narendra Modi led government fulfills the demand of granting special status to AP.

One of YSRCP's leader said that their party is not willing to align even with the opposition of BJP, Congress party. It wants to maintain distance from both the parties as both of them are responsible for what AP is now. It was said by that leader that Congress was responsible for the bifurcation of AP. Also, they failed to give special status to AP.

The leader however assured that YSRCP will support the ruling party in certain issues that benefit the country. When it comes to the deputy speaker post, they said that there has been no offering officially except indications of it. As accepting that position might portray YSRCP aligning with BJP, the leader told that they might not accept it until AP gets special status.

However, no official statements have been passed. They clarified that their concern regarding special status was kept in front of BJP and that they are trying hard to get it done.
