New Delhi, June 21 (IANS) Gaganjeet Bhullar made a wonderful start at the BMW International Open in Munich as he finished tied sixth alongside defending champion Matt Wallace among others, with a score of 3-under par at the end of Day One of the Euro 2,000,000 European Tour event.
The leader for the day was Italian Andrea Pavan, who ended round 1 on 6-under par with the help of three birdies and one albatross.
Playing on a par 72 course, Bhullar had a good start with birdies on 6th and 7th and an eagle on 11th but a bogey on the 14th hole dampened what could have been a much better ending to his day as he finished with a round of 69 for the day. He will look to make the cut on Friday.
The evening session on Thursday saw the Defending Champion Matt Wallace start with a birdie on the 2nd, 8th, 11th and 13th but a bogie on the 3rd hole found him tied at T-6 finishing with a score of (-3) under par and a total of 69.
On the other hand, the other two Indian golfers Shiv Kapur and S.S.P. Chawrasia did not have a great day as they ended Day 1 tied at T-144 and T-89 with scores of (+5) and (+1) respectively.
The play will continue on Day 3 of the tournament and will be broadcast LIVE and exclusive on DSPORT for the Indian fans from 5.30 p.m. on June 22.
