Great people are always among us. It is just a matter of time we get to know that they are. An NRI woman, Padala Kasthuri made a huge gesture towards helping poor people in her state. Her generosity made her a big celebrity in Andhra Pradesh. For the welfare of AP people, she gave a huge donation to the AP government.
She donated 1 acre 10 cents of land to the AP government as a gesture to help poor people in AP in memory of her son Kaniki Reddy. From London, this lady had contacted Minister, Sriranganath Raju and had conveyed her will to donate it. He had responded very quickly and had informed Chief Minister of AP, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy regarding this immediately. For her kind gesture, Jagan Mohan Reddy along with some of his MLAs and Ministers has felicitated Padala Kasturi.
It is being said that this lady requested AP government to use this 7 crores worth land for the housing project meant for the poor people. Such a step taken by this NRI woman might inspire other wealthy persons to donate for the state and make their contributions for a good cause. If such support is shown by the public to the government, the government can move forward to the development of the state in a better or best way possible.
