If a man rapes you, you don’t text him ‘Hi Sweety’: Karan Oberoi

With the advent of 'Me Too,' some false accusations on Men were believed instantly and most recently famous actor Nana Patekar was given clean chit on the allegations of rape and physical abuse. Now another actor, who was jailed in such manner proved his innocence.

It’s all about Karan Oberoi who opens up about the series of incidents that landed him in jail, being falsely accused of rape and extortion, spending time in prison and more, in a recent interview.

Speaking about the false rape allegations against him, actor Karan Oberoi said, "If somebody rapes you, then you don't text him saying, 'Hi Sweety!'" "Also, you won't ask for sex or plead with the 'rapist' to answer your calls...You can't make these charges in a frivolous manner," he added.

Karan Oberoi had been in the news a lot after he was arrested and accused of rape and extortion in May 2019. The actor spent a month in jail with his family and close friends trying their best to prove that he is innocent.

Karan said, “We met on a dating app, where she introduced herself as a healer and astrologer. Then we shifted to WhatsApp and slowly got talking. She did not tell me that she was into witchcraft and voodoo, but I soon realized that something was amiss.

The woman who made the false allegations was arrested on Monday.
