BLANTYRE, May 26, 2019 (Xinhua) — Justice Jane Ansah (3rd R), chairperson of the Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC), announces the results for parliamentary elections in Blantyre, Malawi, May 25, 2019. Malawi’s electoral body on Saturday announced the results for parliamentary elections, with the governing party getting slightly more seats compared to the main opposition party in tightly contested polls. However, the Malawi’ electoral body on Saturday could not announce the final results of presidential election after the country’s main opposition party was granted an injunction by a court restraining the electoral body from announcing the results.
