New Delhi, May 10 (IANS) Almost a year before his extended tenure ends, S. Suresh, Member (Finance) at the Airports Authority of India (AAI), has resigned from the post, citing "purely" personal reasons.
Speaking to IANS, Suresh confirmed that he had submitted his resignation, adding that he would serve three months notice period in accordance with his terms of appointment.
Suresh had been given an extension as Member (Finance) and his tenure was till March 31, 2020.
State-run AAI had earlier recalled Suresh from the board of the Delhi International Airport Ltd (DIAL), a special purpose vehicle in which the public sector airport operator is a 26 per cent partner.
"It was a policy decision. It had been decided that after a member completes his term, he would not be on the board of a joint venture company," said Suresh.
Suresh took over as Member (Finance) on the board of AAI on August 1, 2012 and represented the state entity as director on the board of eight joint venture companies (JVC) of airports in India.
