Malaika Arora Defending her Item Numbers!

Malaika Arora featured in several superhit special dance numbers from Chaiyya Chaiyya to Munni Badnaam Hui and Anarkali Disco Chali.

In a recent interview with Anupama Chopra, Malaika revealed that she's not comfortable with people calling her special performance as 'item number' and stated that she'll slap anyone who calls her dance in cheap names.

Malaika admitted that she was aware of the suggestive nature of the lyrics, but said that most of it was ‘tongue-in-cheek’. Malaika said that “I’ve never felt that it crossed that line where it was downright vulgar, or downright offensive.”

Malaika most recently performed a special dance number in the film Pataakha, directed by Vishal Bhardwaj.
