On April 16, Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov met with Deputy Director-General of South Africa’s Department of International Relations and Cooperation Mxolisi Nkosi.
The meeting was preceded by Mr Nkosi’s detailed consultations with senior officials from the Russian Foreign Ministry’s Latin American Department.
The parties had an engaging and substantive exchange of opinions on the situation developing in Venezuela and around it. Russia’s representative stressed the importance of settling the disagreements in this country solely and exclusively by peaceful means through establishing an inclusive dialogue between the Venezuelan political forces as well as through uniting the efforts of the global community in support of the UN Charter and norms and principles of international law.
