The Rayalaseema area, specifically around Kadapa, has always been the stronghold of the Reddy family. The late CM of united Andhra, YS Rajasekhara Reddy, was undefeated in the area for decades. Now that Jagan Mohan Reddy has taken over his father’s legacy.

Jagan Mohan Reddy's YSRCP workers rigged a polling booth in Gonthuvaripalli village in the Rayalaseema area of Andhra Pradesh. YSRCP leaders in Kadapa's Badvel constituency have allegedly involved in vote-rigging. Having broken into the 97th polling booth of Kasinayana mandal, a group of YSRCP leaders have sent back the voters standing in line and rigged the votes of that polling booth.

Also, in various parts of the state, the violence erupted at polling booths due to many reasons. However, there were long queues of voters outside all the polling stations both in the urban and rural areas of Andhra Pradesh throughout the day.
