Amid efforts by regional parties to form a national front, former JDS president HD Deve Gowda on Monday mentioned Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu as the next Prime Minister.

Addressing public meetings and rallies of TDP in Andhra with Naidu, Gowda asked, “When the country was at such a critical juncture, Naidu has accepted the challenge and why cannot he become the PM of the country." Gowda also accused Modi that he has abused all the constitutional institutions like CBI, Enforcement Directorate and Income Tax to target opponents and destroy the regional leadership.

With his statement on Chandrababu, Deve Gowda hinted TRS president KCR that JDS supports TDP. Criticizing the TRS Chief and the BJP for interfering in AP elections unjustly, he said Modi and KCR are conspiring along with YSRCP Chief Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy to cheat the people of AP.
