Kings XI Punjab skipper Ravi Ashwin has invited the wrath of the cricketing fraternity after his controversial method of running-out Rajasthan Royals Jos Buttler during the IPL game on last Monday. And now after a week, an interesting thing happened regarding that incident.
British radio host Greg James took to Twitter to share a video of England fast bowler James Anderson shredding a picture of KXIP captain Ravichandran Ashwin in reaction to the 'mankading' incident. Adding that the "whole mankading thing isn't right", Anderson called for a change in rules, saying, "Batsmen should be penalized five runs for stealing a yard."
Unsurprisingly, the controversial incident invited a lot of criticism. While there was one section that did feel that Ashwin was within his rights to dismiss the batsman, the majority slammed the India star for going against the spirit of the game. Several former and present cricketers have said that Ashwin should have avoided such a mode of dismissal. But amidst all this, England Test pace spearhead James Anderson has come up with an absolute shocking gesture. While some have found it funny, others were angry with the action.
