Israel reopens Gaza crossing points amid tensions
Gaza, March 31 (IANS) Israel on Sunday reopened the border crossing points with the Gaza Strip after six days of closure and amid growing tensions.

The commercial crossing of Kerem Shalom in the southern Gaza Strip was reopened for goods, Xinhua news agency quoted a Palestinian official as saying.

The Erez crossing in the northern Gaza Strip was also reopened for Palestinians and foreign aid workers to travel through.

Israel closed the crossing points after a rocket fired from Gaza struck a home in Tel Aviv, wounding seven members of a family, including children.

Earlier in the day, Palestinian militants fired at least five rockets at Israel. In response, Israel Defence Forces tanks struck a number of Hamas military posts in the Gaza Strip, the military said.

On Saturday, clashes broke out as Palestinians marked the first year of the Great March of Return rally and 43 years of the Palestinian "Land Day". Four young Palestinian men were killed, while over 300 were injured in the protests.
