Jammu, March 31 (IANS) Heavy firing exchanges took place between Indian and Pakistani troopers on the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir's Rajouri district on Sunday, a defence official said.
"The Pakistani troops resorted to mortar shelling and firing of small arms in the Nowshera sector. Our troops retaliated effectively," Defence Ministry spokesman Lieutenant Colonel Devender Anand told the media.
The firing that began at 9 a.m., was still continuing, Anand added.
On Saturday, a civilian was injured in indiscriminate shelling by the Pakistan Army in Mankote and Krishna Ghati sectors in Poonch district.
