Rwanda Rugby Federation (RRF) (www.RwandaRugby.com) Resilience have been firing on all cylinders this season with two consecutive wins in the Rwanda rugby league.
According to coach/player, ufitimfura donatien, the Resilience are having "the best season ever." The Rusizi District-based side are first in the Rwanda Rugby League with 10 points, followed by Muhanga thunders RFC 9 points, who got their first win against their Rivals UR grizzlies, before beating Puma kamonyi 16-10 last saturday.
Ndimurwango Moise a prop, attributes this season's performance to the experience of senior players, especially among the backline of winger Byiringiropatrick, scrum half Richard and full-back Miruho frank, that have blended well with youth.
"We have valuable experience of Nirere samuel , our backline have confidence with him on the pitch playing together over the years," says Ndimurwango moise.
Donatien ufitimfura who also doubles as the teamcoach and player, says, last year, the club turned to developing students from neighbouring schools like
TTC mururu , GS nyakarenzo ,ES Bugarama,ES Gishoma.
Some of these student-players participated in last year's inter-school tournament in May as well as the regional FEASSA Games in August which held in Rwanda.
"When they play at school level it motivates them to play in the league too," says Donatein. Among the youngsters, who have impressed this season, is the left winger Byiringiro Patrick and prop Ndimurwango moise.
Their most memorable win to date was a 24-10 over lion de fer in the 2016 season.
The Resilience travel to face in-form Muhanga thunders this weekend on Sunday at 1:00 pm, which will be a tough fixture for the visitors, who are all but assured of a place in the playoffs.
