New Delhi, March 26 (IANS) Congress on Monday night announced Krishna Byre Gowda as its candidate for Bangalore North parliamentary seat in the coming Lok Sabha elections.
The seat was surrendered by the JD-S to Congress apparently because it did not have a suitable candidate. The two parties had arrived at 20-8 seat sharing arrangement but the JD-S is now contesting seven seats.
The Congress also replaced its candidate on Amroha seat in Uttar Pradesh. The party has fielded Sachin Choudhary in place of former MP Rashid Alvi.
