Mohali, March 18 (IANS) Minerva Punjab FC was crowned champions of the Amarjit Singh Memorial Cup as they thrashed Punjab University 6-0.
The tournament was played from 15th to 17th March at Singhpura.
Minerva started the campaign with a win through penalties (3-1) against Garshankar College with their U-15 goalkeeper Mustakim pulling off the first two saves.
In the semis, Minerva beat Sikh National College, Banga, 2-0 with a goal from Saurav Rautella and another from U-15 player Samson.
In the final, Minerva emerged victorious with a convincing score of 6-0. Minerva's striker Sreyas VG scored a hattrick, while Samson, Saurav Rautella and Amandeep Singh Bains scored one goal each.
