New Delhi, March 18 (IANS) The Congress on Monday reinstated its election coordination committee for Haryana, days after it was withdrawn shortly after being made public.
"The cause wasn't that big. It was a small one," senior Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad, who is in charge of the state told reporters. The remaining committees would be constituted later, he added.
Azad also refuted the allegations of a factional feud among the party's state leadership and said the Congress will put up a united fight in Haryana.
"The state leaders will tour the state in a bus, which will reflect the spirit of unity," he said.
Polling to the 10 Lok Sabha seats in the state will be held on May 12 in the penultimate phase of the seven phase Lok Sabha elections.
The 15-member coordination committee will be headed by former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda. Ashok Tanwar, Kumari Selja, Kiran Chaudhary, Randeep Surjewala, Kuldeep Bishnoi, Mahender Pratap Singh, Capt. Ajay Singh Yadav, Dipender Hooda, Navin Jindal, Kailash Rani, Anil Thakkar, Jaivir Singh Balmiki and Jaspal Singh Lali are its members.
The Congress had issued the coordination committee list on Friday, but withdrawn it within minutes, leading to speculations that factionalism had yet again consumed the high command's efforts towards unity.
