Kaggallu: An injured policeman being taken to a hospital after TDP candidate Thikka Reddy’s security guard fired in the air to disperse YSRCP activists allegedly attacking him in Andhra Pradesh’s Kaggallu village, on March 16, 2019. In Kurnool District, the TDP candidate along with an Assistant Sub-Inspector of Police from Mantralayam was accidentally shot by his own Gun-man. This incident happened in the Kaggallu village on Saturday during a political riot.
Thikka Reddy, a candidate of the ruling Telugu Desam Party, went to the Kaggallu village to hoist their party flag as a part of election campaigning. However, YSRCP sitting MLA Balanagi along with his followers tried to stop that event and it led to the fight between two groups.
Then immediately Thikka Reddy’s security guard opened fire and accidentally two bullets hit the TDP leader and an Assistant Sub-Inspector of Police. Both received immediate medical attention and were shifted to the hospital. Reportedly, both the TDP leader and the police were safe. After that incident, more police force rushed to the village to prevent further violence.
