Amaravati, March 13 (IANS) The YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) on Wednesday postponed the announcement of its first list of candidates for the Andhra Pradesh Assembly and Lok Sabha polls to March 16.
The main opposition party, which was scheduled to declare the first list on Wednesday, decided to do it on Saturday when party chief Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy will be launching his 'bus yatra' from his native Kadapa district.
Due to hectic activity, with several leaders from other parties joining the YSRCP, the list could not be announced as per the 'mahurat' on Wednesday. "The list of candidates will now be announced at 10.26 a.m. on March 16," the party said.
Reddy will launch the 'bus yatra' at Idupulapaya after paying tributes to his father and former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy.
Simultaneous elections to the 175-member Assembly and all 25 Lok Sabha seats in the state are scheduled in a single phase on April 11.
