Dehradun, March 11 (IANS) The nomination process for the April 11 Lok Sabha polls in Uttarakhand will begin on March 18, the state Chief Electoral Officer said here on Monday.
State Chief Electoral Officer Sowjanya said the last date for filing nominations will be March 25 and the scrutiny will be held on March 26.
The last date of withdrawal of nominations will be March 28, she said.
The polling in Uttarakhand for all the five Lok Sabha seats --- Tehri, Pauri-Garhwal, Almora (reserved), Nainital and Haridwar -- will be held on April 11 in the first phase of voting.
A total of 76,28,526 voters will participate in the election process. In addition, there are 88,000 Services voters also.
She said the model code of conduct will be followed strictly and the political parties are being informed about its details.
"The use of loudspeakers will be banned between 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. till the elections. The polling will also be videographed," she said, adding, there will be a live videography of at least 10 polling booths.
