Rishabh Pant was awarded for his exceptional performance in the calendar year 2017-2018. He is beginning to reap the rewards after becoming the first Indian wicketkeeper to smash Test hundreds in England.

He was not even a part of the 26-man contracted players in last year and now jumped to category A where he will receive 5 crores as the annual income from the BCCI. In another big development, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Shikhar Dhawan have been ‘demoted’ from the A+ category, worth Rs 7 cr, to Category A.

Both these players have lost their permanent places in test cricket. Dhawan lost it after his poor show in England series where Bhuvi couldn’t make it out with his injuries. The A+ category had five contract players in the previous year. Now only three elite players remained in that category and they are none other than Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and Jasprit Bumrah.
