TDP party president, Chandrababu Naidu is a master in the game of politics who ditches his men when their expiry date is on the mark. Initially, he does the same with Nandamuri family, especially Hari Krishna, Jr. Ntr and more recently Suhasini in Telangana elections. He is famous for his "use and throw" policy and now doing the same with defected YCP MLA’s into the party.
In last assembly elections, he was able to form the government with a full majority and there is no need at all to admit YSRCP MLA’s into his party. But he engineered defections and thought that would weaken the opposition’s party. At that time, Naidu was alleged to have lured each MLA with Rs.30 crore and with the assurance of MLA ticket along with some favours in the contract matters from TDP government.
Now, beyond Naidu’s expectations, those defections haven’t affected the YCP a bit in fact strengthened them ahead of assembly polls 2019. Hence, Naidu using his master brain used 'yellow media' which highlighted some fake surveys and cooked up news stories that if tickets are given to these YSRCP MLAs, TDP would lose these seats. Reportedly, Naidu was told to 21 MLA’s that he could give tickets to only 5 of them and left others in the lurch.
