Pyongyang, Feb 18 (IANS) North Korea is at the cusp of a historical turning point, a state-run newspaper said on Monday.
Rodong Sinmun, the official newspaper of the ruling Workers' Party of Korea, in an editorial stressed on making efforts for a greater economic development and highlighted the recent advances made on a small island called Edo, off the country's western coast, in the fishing and shipbuilding sectors, which it said should serve as an example for the rest of the nation, Efe news reported.
"Our country is facing a historic turning point. It is time for us to tighten our shoe strings and run fast, looking for a higher target as we are facing a decisive moment," the article said.
The editorial comes ahead of the second summit between North Korean leader Kim Jong-un and US President Donald Trump slated to take place on February 27-28 in Vietnam's capital city Hanoi.
The two leaders met for the first time in Singapore last June.
Kim will travel to Vietnam on February 25 - the first visit by a North Korean leader since the country's reunification in 1975 - and meet Vietnam's President and General-Secretary of the ruling Communist Party, Nguyen Phu Trong.
