New Delhi, Feb 15 (IANS) It was a cloudy Friday morning here with the minimum temperature recorded at 11.8 degrees Celsius, a notch above the season's average. The Met predicts light rains later.
"The sky will remain generally cloudy with light rain or thundershower likely to occur during the day," an India Meteorological Department (IMD) official said.
The maximum temperature was likely to hover around 23 degrees Celsius. The humidity at 8.30 a.m. was recorded at 91 per cent.
The Indian Railways said as many as 16 Delhi-bound trains were delayed due to fog and low visibility in several parts of northern India.
According to the System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting and Research (SAFAR), the overall air quality index (AQI) was recorded "very poor" with levels of PM2.5 at 146.
Thursday's maximum temperature settled at 23.6 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature was recorded at 7 degrees Celsius, three notches below the normal.
