Los Polistas International Women’s Polo Cup
Mumbai, 25th January 2019: The Amateurs Riders’ Club hosted the first International Women’s Polo Cup on 25th January 2019 between team India (Sternhagen) and team USA (Caraysil), at the Mahalaxmi Race Course. Co-hosted by the world-class hotel chain, St. Regis- Mumbai, Indian Financial services company, Edelweiss and Cîroc; the match concluded in a tie with a total score of 8 - 8, for the prestigious Los Polistas International Women’s Polo Cup.
Representing team India were Rinaa Shah, Cindy Halle led by Meghan Judge playing against the tough competition Ashley Parekh, Carolyn Stimmel led by Anna Winslow representing the team USA. In recognition of her outstanding performance in the game, Anna Winslow was titled ‘The woman of the match’. Ashley Parekh being the youngest polo player in India was awarded the title ‘debutant polo player of the year’.
The ARC pioneered this initiative with an aim to promote women polo in the city with the Police Commissioner of Mumbai Mr.Subodh Kumar Jaiswal as the esteemed chief guest of the match. Enjoying the king of sport in its full glory were the crème da la crème of Mumbai’s local and expatriate business, arts, fashion and media communities such as, Ed Armstrong - Governor of the United States Polo Association, Alex Kuruvilla - CEO of Conde Nast, Somi Roy, Mr. Gupta - Income tax commissioner, Karishma Kotak Simone Arora, alongside Mr. Shyam Mehta, President and Mr. Nasir Jamal, Vice President of the Amateur Riders’ Club..
The enthralling first of its kind match in the city was followed by a glamorous fashion show by the millennial fashion designer Rhea Parekh launching her new polo wear brand - Los Polistas. The polo wear line was showcased by Bollywood debutant Warina Hussain and the collection skilfully imbibed the spirit of the polo game.

Situated in the heart of Mumbai, it is a hub for riding throughout the year.
