Two men who alleged TN CM’s hand in theft held in Delhi

New Delhi, Jan 13 (IANS) The Tamil Nadu Police on Sunday arrested from the national capital two persons, who were allegedly involved in a robbery in late Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa's Kodanadu estate in the Nilgiris and had accused the incumbent CM Edappadi Palaniswamy of having links with the break at the estate in April 2017.

The two -- Manoj and Sayan, both residents of Kerala -- were picked up by a police team in plain clothes from a coffee shop in Dwarka area in south-west Delhi and were being taken to Tamil Nadu.

Sources said the two were allegedly involved in the break-in during which a Nepalese security guard had died. Subsequently, there have been four mysterious deaths of people including the wife and child of Sayan in a road accident, and Kanakaraj, driver of Jayalalithaa's close aide, Sasikala, in a road accident in Tamil Nadu.

The arrests comes days after Manoj and Sayan addressed a press conference here, organised by Tehelka Managing Editor Samuel Mathews, in which the two had alleged that the Chief Minister had an interest in the break in at the Kodanadu estate.

The two were already on bail.

Chief Minister Palaniswamy on Saturday rejected the allegations made against him by the accused in the Kodanadu break in case and said the police would probe the matter.

Mathews released the video on January 11 in which the accused had allegedly linked the Tamil Nadu CM to the estate break-in.
