Signify unveils IoT platform for lighting products in India

Bengaluru, Dec 18 (IANS) European firm Signify, formerly Philips Lighting, on Tuesday unveiled here its Internet of Things (IoT)-based Interact platform that connects lighting products.

"The IoT platform helps customers to use our lighting products efficiently and deliver their data-enabled services," said the company in a statement.

The secure, scalable cloud-based Interact platform uses data management and data processing capabilities, including machine learning (ML), to bring sense to data-creating and data-enabled services for customers that will deliver benefits beyond illumination.

The company said it has till date installed 29 million connected light points worldwide and plans for every new LED product it produces to be connectable by 2020.

The growing number of connected light points, sensors, devices and systems can collect volumes of data, which Interact has been designed to handle.

Data from authorised third parties can also be analysed by Interact.
