Chandigarh, Dec 4 (IANS) The International Gita Mahotsav-2018 will be held in Kurukshetra in Haryana from December 7 to 23 with participation by artists and artisans of national and international repute.
This year, Mauritius would be the partner country and Gujarat would be the partner state in the celebrations.
The Mahotsav is an annual event organized in collaboration with the Kurukshetra Development Board (KDB) in Kurukshetra, around 100 km from here, an official spokesman said on Tuesday.
He said the main events would be organized from December 13 to 18.
Major attractions will include International Gita Seminar (Dec 13-15), 'Sant Sammelan' on Dec 16 in which holy men from around the country and abroad will participate and recital of 'Srimad Bhagwad Gita' by devotees (Dec 17).
'Ashtadash Shloki Gita' would be recited by 18,000 students along with global Gita chanting on Dec 18.
Kurukshetra has religious significance in Hindu mythology and is the land where the epic battle of 'Mahabharata' was fought and the teachings of 'Gita' were given by Lord Krishna to warrior Arjun.
