"We are on track to implement TQM at Dolvi and Salem plants by 2020 after ensuring it at our Vijayanagar Works steel-making unit in Karnataka's Ballari northwest district," JSW Group Joint Managing Director Seshagiri Rao told reporters here.
The Dolvi plant is located about 80 km from Mumbai on the west coast.
TQM has enabled the $13-billion JSW Group's flagship business to drive operational efficiencies and strengthen its customer service orientation.
"The TQM implementation has been focused on building and strengthening the problem-solving capabilities of our employees at Vijayanagar," said Rao.
"The Deming Prize we won is a testimony of our journey and milestones achieved to ensure we create a better day for our customers. We will focus on setting new benchmarks," said Rao.
JSW Steel's Deputy Managing Director Vinod Nowal said the company had a pro-active customer-oriented quality assurance teams in all its three plants.
"Our TQM framework with strategy management system and total employee engagement ensures quality at every touchpoint to customers and stake holders," said Nowal.
The Vijayanagar plant won the global quality award -- The Deming Prize -- in October for its TQM practices.
The Deming Prize is awarded annually by the Japanese Union of Scientists and Engineers to a firm implementing TQM suitable for its management philosophy.
As one of the largest single location steel units, the Toranagallu-based integrated Vijayanagar plant has an installed capacity to produce 12 million tonne per annum.
The Jindal Steel Works (JSW) Group has also presence in cement, energy, infrastructure, sport and ventures.
