DAI's Global Services Center to come up in HyderabadHyderabad, Nov 14 (IANS) Looking to use Indian talent for its global development initiatives, DAI, a leader in global development, has joined hands with Sunera Technologies, Inc. to set up DAI Global Services Center.

The two companies on Wednesday announced that they have signed a Build-Own-Operate-Transfer (BOOT) agreement to launch the center.

DAI, headquartered in the United States, is currently executing 200 development projects with a total contract value of $3 billion in 100 countries.

 

Sunera Technologies, Inc. (Suneratech), also a US-headquartered firm, is leader in developing innovative technology solutions.

Beginning its operations with 50 people, the DAI Global Services Center (GSC) will focus on development of solutions using new technologies like Cloud, Internet of Things (IoT) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) for cheaper, better and faster execution of DAI projects around the world. The facility will also work as Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) for DAI's global operations.

As DAI has 50 years experience and possess lot of data, data analysts at GSC will capitalize on it to develop new solutions to address the socio-economic problems in different countries. The facility will also have project delivery teams to deliver the projects globally.

James Boomgard, President and CEO of DAI told reporters that though they have been working with Suneratech for last 10 years, the GSC is expected to serve as a platform to combine DAI's experience and knowledge with the technology and innovation in India to develop the solutions and take it to the rest of the world.

Ravi Reddy, President and CEO of Sueratech, hoped that the facility would be expended to have few hundred to 1,000 employees.

DAI, which had global revenues of $650 million last year, is working on projects on healthcare, democracy, governance and economic growth in regions like Africa, Asia, Middle East and Latin America.

With 4,000 employees around the world, it works on projects funded by USAID, European Union and other global donors.

Suneratech, which has 1,000 employees including 850 in Hyderabad, also plans to hire 1,500 people by December 2021, said Ravi Reddy.
