Brussels, Oct 26 (IANS) A Belgian company that provides aircraft ground handling services on Friday launched a flash strike in Belgium's main airport of Brussels-Zaventem, a spokesperson for the airport told Efe.
The ground handling service personnel working for Belgian company Aviapartner halted at 3.30 p.m. on Thursday, forcing around 300 passengers to sleep at the airport.
Trade unions said there was no planned end to the strike and that the walkout was due to a total breakdown in communication between the union and Aviapartner.
The unions added that the duration of the industrial action would depend on the solutions the handling company offered its workers.
The strike has left passengers of 28 outgoing and 34 incoming flights with no luggage, and the airport was unable to inform passengers when they were likely to recover their belongings.
