When Vijay Deverakonda was seen in Yevade Subramanyam as this feisty friend of Nani, not everyone assumed that he’d become the sensation he is today. Yes, a promising youngster did seem to have appeared but we had seen many such faces before. Except, Vijay didn’t think so!
Vijay used that small visibility to make some great choices. He soon collaborated with filmmakers who were trying to change cinema and took a chance. Pelli Choopulu, Dwaraka and Arjun Reddy were all part of that streak.
While Dwaraka didn’t work out, both the other films turned out to become trendsetters. And that changed things for the youngster. If Pelli Choopulu made him a face to watch out for, Arjun Reddy pushed him into a star in the making.
Each of these films raised him into the next level. And then, Geetha Govindam happened. The film pushed him into the elite 100 crore club which even a few acclaimed Bollywood actors haven’t been able to achieve.
These three hits say a lot though. They talk about the kind of path Vijay is trying to set for himself, choosing different roles each time. Well, the latest release NOTA is on the same path too.
Over time, Vijay has pushed the audiences to look for something new when they visit the theatres, all with just his brand of cinema. It’s no easy task to gain loyal followers in such a small amount of time and it’s been just three years and this youngster has achieved that with reasonable easy and doing what he does best - making films.
A new genre and also a new challenge in the form of his Tamil debut is what NOTA symbolizes. And we at Freeze Frame Films are proud to be presenting this new age political thriller to the audiences in the US. Premieres on Thursday night at the theatres closest to you!
