Mumbai, Oct 1 (IANS) Reliance Infrastructure Ltd's Mumbai Metro One will celebrate its fourth "Daan Utsav" (Joy of Giving) week during October 2-8, urging people and organisations to celebrate the joy of giving in any form, an official said here on Monday.
This year, Mumbai Metro One will collaborate with multiple NGOs working for the cause of handicapped, senior citizens and underprivileged children and will encourage the commuters to support these causes.
Besides, it will also organise fun activities at stations like Andheri, Chakala, Airport Road, Marol Naka, Saki Naka and also collect donations for the intended causes.
This time, Mumbai Metro One has partnered with CRY, Joy Skill Crafts, HelpAge India and iVolunteer for the Daan Utsav.
On October 6, iVolunteers will organise a Zumba session for Mumbai Metro's security and housekeeping personnel to act as a stress-buster, besides promoting the event on trains, stations, announcements, digital screens, social media, etc.
"We regularly undertake appropriate CSR measures having direct and positive impact on the community in the local area where we operate. We are elated to celebrate Daan Utsav to foster a sense of compassion within our own organisation as well as our commuters," said the spokesperson.
The Mumbai Metro urged individuals and organisations to come forward and relish the joy of giving back to society during the week.
The Mumbai Metro One Pvt Ltd is the city's first 11.4-km Metro -- constructed by a consortium of RInfra, Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) and Transdev -- which has slashed the travel time between Versova and Ghatkopar from 90 to 21 minutes.
