Samsung Charity Gala Raises Money for Education and Health Programs that Support U.S. Communities Nationwide
Guests enjoyed a performance by Pitbull and music by Fitz and the Tantrums, DJ Irie, and students of the Hamilton Education Program with special guest Ryan Seacrest and honored guest Mariska Hargitay.
Mariska accepted the night’s Champion of Hope award for her work with the Joyful Heart Foundation and used her platform to highlight the courage and strength of countless victims of sexual assault.
Victor Cruz shared a video reel of his experiences traveling to Puerto Rico with the Samsung team last week while presenting a surprise donation of $120,000 to Solar Libre Puerto Rico, an organization working to educate, fund and empower local communities to rebuild with solar energy throughout the island in the aftermath of Hurricane Maria.

ABOUT: Samsung’s Charity Gala brought together luminaries from across the worlds of entertainment and business to help raise awareness and money for a variety of important programs that further improve the health and education of children across the U.S. Guests at the Gala enjoyed an exclusive party with special attendee Ryan Seacrest, a headline performance by Pitbull and additional live performances by Fitz and the Tantrums, DJ Irie, and students of The Hamilton Education Program. Mariska Hargitay received the award for Champion of Hope honoring the Joyful Heart Foundation. Every year, all of the proceeds from the Samsung Charity Gala go directly to Samsung’s charity partners. To date, Samsung’s philanthropic efforts have helped raise more than $75 million which has benefitted more than 2,600 schools, hospitals, and foundations throughout the U.S. since 2001.
