Lucknow, Sep 21 (IANS) After a gap of almost 10 days, rains are set to return to some parts of Uttar Pradesh, the weatherman said on Friday.
According to the regional Met office, western and central parts of the state would receive "heavy to very heavy rains" in the next few days.
"The western Uttar Pradesh and some parts of central Uttar Pradesh, including Lucknow and neighbouring regions will receive heavy rainfall between September 23-26," the Met office has warned.
The rains will also bring down the mercury, which for the past few days has been on a steady climb. Gusty winds in western Uttar Pradesh and the National Capital Region (NCR) have also been predicted for the next four days.
The Met office said the rains would be part of the retreating monsoon but also due to a depression being formed in the Bay of Bengal.
Places that will have heavy rains include Agra, Lucknow, Saharanpur, Muzaffarnagar, Meerut, Baghpat, Firozabad, Mainpuri, Etawah and Mathura.
