New Delhi, Sep 19 (IANS) After singing songs for the 2010 Telugu film "Kalavar King", Assamese musician Joi Barua is back to the south film industry, this time as a composer for Ayodhya Kumar Krishnamsetty's directorial "24 Kisses".
"I was recommended to him (Krishnamsetty) by Resul Pookutty (Oscar-winning sound artiste) who had loved my work on 'Margarita with a Straw' and the 'Pride' series," Joi told IANS.
He has composed five songs for the forthcoming film.
"A heavy rock track will be launched today (Wednesday) which I have sung. It is in Hindi," he said.
The rest of the four songs are in Telugu and sung by different singers.
"I had a very good experience. They understand things really well, give you a lot of freedom and have great perception of what is and what can be," he said.
Language wasn't a barrier for him this time.
"Back then ('Kalavar King') was my first time. It was tougher because I had to sing in that language, the sound of which was different from anything I knew. But to work with the people from there has always been a pleasure," he said.
Meanwhile, he is being lauded for his music in the film "Laila Majnu".
Talking about the two versions of the film's hit song "O meri Laila" -- one sung by Atif Aslam and the other by Joi -- he said: "They come at different points in the movie. Mine is the beginning of romance so, it's raw. Atif's is the climax. The hooks are a little different."
He is currently enjoying the variety of music that he is getting to compose and produce. "I feel lucky and good," he said.
