Punjab Police officers’ mother found murdered

Chandigarh, Sep 17 (IANS) A 78-year-old woman, whose two sons are officers in the Punjab Police, was found murdered on Monday at her house in Dakoha locality in Jalandhar city, nearly 150 km from here, police said.

Sheela Prabhakar was found dead when her daughter came to her house to meet her.

Police said that initial investigation suggested death by strangulation. The house was found burgled and gold jewellery was missing.

Her two sons are police officers. One is an assistant inspector general and the other is a sub-inspector. The victim lived alone.
