New Delhi, Aug 28 (IANS) Delhi Metro services on the blue line were severely hit on Tuesday due to ongoing maintenance work, causing inconvenience to the commuters.
Metro officials said the speed was reduced for the maintenance work on the track which could not be carried out at night because of the rain.
The trains on the line -- connecting Dwarka to Ghaziabad and Noida -- ran at a speed of 15 km per hour instead of 35 km per hour.
"Due to some planned periodic maintenance by Track department in the previous night, a temporary speed restriction (TSR) of 15 km per hour has been imposed on Up line between Subhash Nagar and Tilak Nagar stations (going towards Dwarka), which is likely to continue for the day.
"This may result in minor bunching/delay on the Line. Speed restriction will be removed once the track department carries out the remaining work in the night," the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation said in a statement.
Around 1.30 p.m. the speed limit was increased up to 30 km per hour between Subhash Nagar and Tilak Nagar stations, it added.
