Lucknow, Aug 24 (IANS) The Lucknow Metro Rail Corporation (LMRC) on Friday announced it would be setting up donation camps at its stations where people can contribute for flood relief in Kerala.
An official said that the Metro has joined hands with a voluntary organization Goonj to organise the collection camp at its Alambagh Bus Station here.
"The coastal state of Kerala is currently struggling with the catastrophic floods and we thought it would only be proper if we come forward to do our bit to extend help to the rain-ravaged state," the official told IANS.
The LMRC has requested people to give their contributions in form of clothes, mosquito nets, footwear, umbrellas, sanitary napkins, medicines, food materials and other required miscellaneous items like candles, gloves, face mask, raincoat, water purifier tablets, sleeping mat, etc.
