Rome, Aug 17 (IANS) AC Milan on Friday announced it had reached agreements to sign Spanish forward Samuel Castillejo and Uruguayan midfielder Diego Laxalt on transfer from Villarreal and Genoa respectively.
The Serie A club said both players signed long-term contracts, without revealing their duration, reports Efe.
"AC Milan are delighted to announce the signings of Spanish forward Samuel Castillejo Azuaga ("Samu") and Uruguayan midfielder Diego Sebastian Laxalt Suarez ("Diego") from Villarreal CF and Genoa CFC respectively," the club said in a statement.
The 23-year-old Castillejo made his La Liga debut with his hometown club Malaga before joining Villarreal, where he has scored 11 goals in 127 appearances over the past three seasons.
Laxalt, meanwhile, scored six goals for Genoa during last season and was part of the Uruguayan national team that took part in the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
During the summer transfer window, Milan contracted Argentina's Gonzalo Higua?n, Spain's Pepe Reina, France's Tiemoue Bakayoko, Italy's Mattia Caldara and Croatia's Ivan Strinic.
"With the signing of the players Bakayoko, Castillejo and Laxalt AC Milan completed its incoming transfers for this summer transfer campaign," the club added.
