New Delhi, Aug 9 (IANS) The Union Cabinet on Thursday gave its approval to creation of two Joint Secretary-level posts in the Interpreters' cadre of the Ministry of External Affairs.
The decision, taken in a Cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, will help augment expertise of the Interpreters' cadre and meet specialised requirements of training for the cadre personnel, Union Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad told the media.
This measure would be important in addressing the increasing requirements for interpretation in the backdrop of significantly enhanced high-level bilateral and multilateral engagements of the government of India globally, Prasad said.
