London, Aug 3 (IANS) The death of "Supermarket Sweep" fame television presenter David Winton was a result of natural causes.
The popular radio-TV presenter was found dead at his north London home in April. He was 62.
Earlier speculation was that Winton had taken his own life, but confirming the cause of his death, Winton's long-time agent Jan Kennedy told the Press Association that "the coroner investigating the death of Dale Winton has found death by natural causes", reports mirror.co.uk.
Winton's friend Gloria was upset over people believing that he had committed suicide. At the same time, his long-time friend and radio host Steve Allen had said Winton hadn't been in a "good place" and that he would drop hints about ending his life.
Winton was also rumoured to have been suffering money woes, having sold his 2.6 million-pound central London townhouse just three weeks before his untimely death.
According to Winton's neighbours in Florida, the TV star fell hard for a hairdresser who was 20 years younger to him, and was heartbroken when it suddenly ended.
In 2016, Winton had also opened up about his battle with depression, triggered by a break-up.
"Listen, there are worse things in the world - but I had depression and I didn't realise," he had once said in an interview.
Winton had also presented famous game show "Hole In The Wall" and more recently "Dale Winton's Florida Fly Drive".
