'Khoya-Paya' portal helps track, recover 1971 children in UPNew Delhi, Aug 2 (IANS) In all, 1971 children were tracked and recovered in Uttar Pradesh between June 2015 and July 2018 using the facility of "Khoya-Paya" -- a citizen corner of Trackchild, a Union Minister told the Rajya Sabha on Thursday.

The Khoya-Paya portal is a citizen-based website to exchange information on missing and found children. It has been developed jointly by the Ministry of Women and Child Development (WCD) and the Department of Electronics and Information Technology (DeitY).

According to Minister of State for WCD Virendra Kumar, over 5,000 children (5427) have been recovered through the portal across the country, to date. Delhi stands second in terms of number of recovered children (360) followed by Karnataka (265).

 

As reported by National Crime Record Bureau (NCRB), a total of 68,874, 60,443 and 63,407 children were reported missing during the year 2014, 2015 and 2016, respectively.

The Khoya-Paya website is an enabling platform, where citizens can report missing children, as well as any other relevant information about their whereabouts without loss of much time.

The "Found" children can also be reported on this portal. The reporting can be done through text, photographs, videos and other means of transmitting and uploading information in the portal.
