Incubation program deadline for energy startups extended

New Delhi, Aug 2 (IANS) The Ministry of Commerce and Industry on Thursday extended the last date for energy sector startups to apply for a three-month incubation program with a cash grant of Rs 5 lakh, to August 10.

Integrate to Innovate is a corporate acceleration program for energy startups housed at the corporate premises. Invest India has tied up with energy firms to offer lab-to-market opportunity for the startups through it.

"The last date to apply for the programme has been extended to August 10, 2018," the Commerce Ministry said in a statement. The application for the programme is hosted on Startup India Hub -- an online portal and part of the ministry.

The programme provides an opportunity to collaborate with the network of corporates to access technology, technical and commercial mentorship, and potential customers.

"The selected startups will receive a cash prize grant of up to Rs 5 lakh per startup along with an opportunity to pilot their product with corporates," it said.

Startups in various stages of the energy life-cycle -- generation, transmission and distribution, storage and consumption -- in multiple sectors are invited.
