Los Angeles, July 30 (IANS) Star Swedish striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored a quickfire hat-trick, his first in Major League Soccer (MLS), as LA Galaxy rallied to beat Orlando City 4-3 here.
Ibrahimovic on Sunday netted his goals inside 24 minutes in the second half, according to a BBC report.
With the treble, Ibrahimovic now has 15 goals in 17 appearances for LA Galaxy. The 36-year-old also provided the assist for Giovani dos Santos to score Galaxy's first goal.
Cristian Higuita had given Orlando the lead. The visitors' other goals came from a Michael Ciani own goal and Dom Dwyer, .
"It was a good day. For the team. For me. I scored three goals, had one assist. We won the game. If we wouldn't have won the game, it doesn't matter how many goals or assists you do, to win is something different," Ibrahimovic was quoted as saying by the club's official website.
"I think we started the first half poor. Very poor. We conceded easy goals. I think that was lack of willingness, lack of concentration, energy, motivation. In the second, we showed what we wanted. We went out, and we went for the kill," he added.
