Two Bangladeshi terror operatives nabbed in Noida

Lucknow, July 24 (IANS) Two alleged Bangladeshi terror operatives were arrested from Uttar Pradesh's Noida on Tuesday in a joint operation by the Uttar Pradesh's Anti-Terror Squad (ATS) and the West Bengal Police, an official said.

"A team is interrogating the operatives," an Uttar Pradesh Police spokesman told IANS. Identified as Musharraf and Rubel, the two operatives of the Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen, based in Bangladesh.

Inspector General of Police, ATS, Aseem Arun informed that the two were arrested from city's Surajpur, adding their presence came to be known after the ATS had intercepted a telephone call few days back following which police zeroed down on them.

Officials indicated that a deadly attack was being planned either on August 15 or during the 'Kanwar Yatra' beginning July 28.

The two are being brought to Lucknow for further interrogation about their associates and plans.
